Privacy Policy
Scope
This policy explains how Flohmap processes personal data when you visit flohmap.ch or use the Flohmap app for iOS. The service is intended exclusively for people in Switzerland.
Controller
[First name Last name], private individual · [Street and number] · [Postcode City], Switzerland · Email: hello@flohmap.ch
Principles
Personal data is processed under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection. We process only data required to operate the website and app, provide their features, maintain security and respond to enquiries.
Website and server logs
When you visit the website, technically necessary information may be processed, including your IP address, date and time, requested page, browser, operating system, amount of data transferred and technical errors. This information is used to deliver the website and maintain its stability and security.
The website is hosted by Vercel. Content and media are managed and delivered through Sanity. Vercel, Sanity and their subprocessors may therefore process technical access data.
Flohmap does not use its own analytics or marketing services and does not use tracking cookies.
Contact form and email
When you contact us through the website, we process your name, email address, optional phone number, message and technically necessary connection data solely to respond to your enquiry.
The form is transmitted through Web3Forms. Web3Forms is operated by Web3Creative in India and uses additional providers for infrastructure, email delivery and spam protection. The message is then stored in the mailbox operated by METANET.
Enquiries are deleted no later than twelve months after they have been dealt with, unless a legal obligation or legitimate reason requires longer retention. This deletion also covers the submission stored by Web3Forms.
Account and profile
The app requires an account. Your email address, authentication data and an internal user ID are processed for registration and sign-in. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple also processes the data required for authentication.
Depending on how you use the app, further information may be stored, including display name, first and last name, phone number, postcode and organiser contact details intended for publication.
Use of the app
The following data may be processed to provide app features:
- bookmarked flea markets
- notification preferences and app settings
- reports, proposed changes and organiser requests
- visited flea markets
- flea markets and dates you create or edit
- notification history
- technical access, security and error data
Public organiser details
Information expressly published as organiser contact details is visible to other users.
Location data
With your permission, the app accesses the device’s current location. Coordinates may be sent to the Flohmap backend to show nearby markets, calculate distances and confirm a visit near a market.
Flohmap does not store a continuous location history. When a visit is confirmed, the submitted coordinates are checked and then discarded. Only the fact that the account visited the relevant market is stored.
Apple services may be used for maps, place searches and directions. Apple’s privacy terms also apply.
Push notifications
Push notifications are enabled only with your permission. A device token, user ID and selected notification preferences are stored for this purpose. Notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification Service. Notification history in Flohmap is deleted after 30 days.
Subscriptions
Plus and Business subscriptions are handled through the Apple App Store and RevenueCat. The internal user ID, product and subscription status, transaction information and technical device information are processed. Flohmap does not receive complete payment-card details.
Calendar
When you add a date to the device calendar, this happens locally through the iOS calendar feature with your permission. Flohmap does not gain access to other calendar entries and does not store the created entry in its backend.
Service providers and international transfers
Flohmap uses the following service providers in particular:
- Supabase for authentication, database and backend services; primary project region: Ireland
- Apple for sign-in, the App Store, maps, calendar and push notifications
- RevenueCat in the United States for subscriptions
- Vercel in the United States and other regions for website hosting
- Sanity in Norway, the United States and other processing regions for website content
- Web3Forms or Web3Creative in India and its infrastructure and spam-protection providers for the contact form
- METANET in Switzerland for email
Protection for international transfers
Where personal data is transferred to a country without an adequate level of protection, the transfer is based on contractual safeguards or another mechanism recognised by law.
Retention and account deletion
Personal data is kept only for as long as required for its purpose. Account data and app data linked to a user are generally retained until the account is deleted.
Deleting the account removes profile and contact information, bookmarks, visits, push tokens, notifications, reports, organiser data and entitlements. Published community content such as flea markets, dates and approved changes may remain, but its connection to the deleted account is removed.
Service providers may retain data for a limited additional period in backups or because of their own legal obligations.
Your rights
Subject to the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, you may request access to, correction, delivery or deletion of your personal data. Consent may be withdrawn at any time for the future.
Requests may be sent to hello@flohmap.ch. Proof of identity may be required to prevent unauthorised disclosure.
Security
Data is transmitted in encrypted form. Flohmap and its service providers take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Changes and governing version
This policy may be updated when features, service providers or legal requirements change. The published version applies.
If the language versions differ, the German version prevails.
